STACK OVERFLOW (http://stackoverflow.com/) It is a Q&A site for professional and enthusiastic programmers. It is a privately owned website, created in 2008 by Jeff Atud and Joel Spolsky. Provides questions and answers on a variety of topics in a computer program. It has become a more open option for older question and answer sites such as Experts-Exchange. The name of the website was voted in April 2008 by readers of Coding Horn, a popular programming blog by Atwood.


The website serves as a platform for users to ask and answer questions, with membership and active participation, selecting questions and answers up and down, and editing questions and answers similar to wiki or reddit. Users of Stack overflow can earn known points and "badges". For example, a person can be given 10 names by answering the question "up" or receiving an "up" vote, and they can also receive badges for their contributions. All are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribute-Attribution License, version2.5, 3.0 or 4.0, depending on the date the user-generated content was submitted.


As of March 2021, Stack overflow has more than 14 million users, received over 21 million questions and 31 million answers. JavaScript (JS), java, C #, PHP, Android, Python, jQuery and HTML are among the eight most frequently discussed topics on the site, depending on the tags provided.

For employers: They are open to promote their logo, advertise their vacancies on the site and meet candidates from the Stach Flow flow database.

A 2013 survey found that 75% of users answered only one question, 65% answered only one question, and only 8% of users answered more than 5 questions. An extensive user group created a Stack overflow consulting program to ask and answer questions, giving users an average 50% increase. As of 2011, 92% of the questions were answered within 11 minutes. A.D.
